In 2026 Kent Youth Trials Club turns 50!!!
The significance of 2026 has been on my radar for quite some time. As more and more boxes of "archived" stuff started appearing in my house, I truly grasped how significant KYTC has been to the many people who rode with the club over the years, some of whom no longer ride, some of whom still ride within the Kent Trials scene, and even some who have moved abroad and are still active in trials in some form or another.
There are quite a few events planned and special things happening for our current crop of youth members to celebrate KYTC turning 50, but as a club we wanted to do something else that includes all those that have been involved with KYTC over the years, whether they were riders themselves, parents of riders, volunteers or committee members.
And so on Sunday 30th August 2026 we will be holding a Youth and Adult Open Practice Trial at Sandfields Farm, Cowden, Kent. TN8 7DW. A stunning venue that has previously seen both Adult and Youth British National Championship rounds, we hope that anybody who has a connection to KYTC will join us to celebrate this momentous occasion - whether riding or not.
There will be 10 - 12 sections set out in the sandstone woods surrounding the central field, with 5 routes of varying difficulty. As it is a non-observed practice trial, you are free to ride whichever route on whichever section you desire.
Everything we have from the past will be on display for you to look through - from trophies, photos, newsletters and even committee meeting minutes - which we are currently in the process (about 40% of the way through - until some more appears!!) of scanning in and uploading to the website - see our From The Archives page - and we encourage you to bring along anything you may have as well.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our current and former members to ride together at a stunning venue, for old friends to reconnect and for people to reminisce and remember how significant KYTC and motorcycle trials has been in their lives.
To make this event as accessible as possible to everyone, there are multiple ways of registering to ride:-
