News

A clean sweep at the North Kent Trials Combine awards night, with KYTC riders taking home all 5 youth awards!  Congratulations to George C. (Youth Expert), Rowan D. (Youth Intermediate B), Sam K. (Youth Intermediate), Joshua G. (Youth Novice) and Charlie G. (Youth Sportsman).    Well Done All!!!

A fantastic day was had by all at the KYTC Dougie Lampkin Masterclass.  Split into two groups - A.M. & P.M.- Dougie demonstrated to all the kids and then examined each rider's ability before advising them best how to tackle the sections that had been set out.  Despite it only being 1 week after the Scottish Six Day, and having driven down from Yorkshire that morning, Dougie's energy never waned, and his enthusiasm for the sport really shone through.   Thank you Dougie!!!

A fantastic evening was had at this years KYTC Awards night, held on 3rd February at Ashford Football Club.  A really good turn out, the inaugural presentation of the new Ladies Cup, the KYTC Championship and OSET Cup awards, finishers medals, national competitors awards, a fantastic raffle and a very special award for a very special lady.

Trophies were handed out by long-time supporter of the club, former trials-Dad (and now trials-Grandad) Stan Stephens.

2022 ACU Belle Trailers British Solo Youth A B C and D Trials Championship.
Its official!!
We have held back on releasing our 2022 dates as we have been waiting for some exciting news and the ACU have now confirmed that we have been allocated 2 rounds of the ACU Belle Trailers Youth Trials Championship in 2022!

Due to take place over the weekend of 20/21 August, we look forward to welcoming the best youth riders from around the British Isles.  With thanks to Wickham MCC, we are aiming to use the iconic venue at Cowden, a place steeped in trials history that has seen previous youth and adult national events.

We can't do this all on our own and look forward to collaborations old and new with other interested parties who we will be contacting over the coming months.  If you are interested in helping out at all with sponsorship, observing, food and drink, clearing, setting up or any of the other myriad of jobs, please don't hesitate to get in contact with us either via our Facebook page or the contact form that can be found on the home page.
2021 ACU British Girls National, Final Rounds, 30th & 31st October (hosted by M&M Events and Promotions)
Congratulations to Lilly Wright who finished 4th and 5th across the 2 days up in Derbyshire.

Added to her 2nd place at Hookwoods  in July, means that she finished 5th in D class Championship for the end of the year.   An outstanding effort for her first ever attempt at a national level!!

Also congratulations to Celeste Phipps who had a 6th place at Hookwoods in July, giving her enough points to finish 7th in D class at the end of the year.  Well Done!
2021 ACU British Youth National, Final Round, 3rd October (hosted by Mansfield Maun)
The KYTC visit to the Youth National event at Bracken Rocks in Derbyshire didn't disappoint.  Heavy rain the day before the event added further difficulty to the trial, especially for many of our riders who had never experienced this sort of terrain and rocks.  However, all of them rode brilliantly and everyone finished, gathering loads of experience for future events. Full results can be found on the Mansfield Maun Motorcycle Club webpage.

Youth C Medium - Edward Mowat - 2nd
                                   - Fin Penny -  3rd

Saturdays event will start at 13:00 with signing on from midday & on Sunday signing on will be between 9 & 10am and the trial will start at 10.30. Please note that it is a longer lap than normal so if you have spare batteries you may want to bring them. One of the sections runs along a stream so parents of smaller riders may want to wear suitable footwear.

There will be camping available from Friday night after 5:30pm with electric (available from Saturday). The ground has a number of thistles in it so if camping bring an extra groundsheet. We would also recommend bringing long trousers for your children if you intend to let them run around after the trial.

Kent County Show
KYTC will be at the 2017 Kent County Show so make sure you keep the 7th,8th & 9th of July free on your calendars.

We as a club have always been extremely fortunate to be invited to provide entertainment to the kent county show. In years gone by the club has had some fantastic times, non more so then last years event providing demo riding & this year we aim to do the same.

If you wish to come for a single day or make a short holiday of it that's absolutely fine.
We hope to be issued free tickets for the show itself but are not sure on amounts at this time. We must have a clear idea on numbers in advance to make the necessary arrangements.
Kytc as club see this as a way of saying thank you to our members for there continued support.
It will cost you absolutely nothing for your children to come along & ride in the trials arena for a single day or all three.

Camping will be available from Thursday the 6th for the period of the show. There are showers & toilets on site. There is also the possibility of electrical hook up as well but again this can't be guaranteed at present. Again we must have numbers to get this arranged with the show ground.
There will be a small charge for electric hook up but at this time I don't no the exact amount.
We are hoping to have lots going on throughout the show with some guest rides from the freestyle trials team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the club
to grow on what has already been a fun start to the year & hopefully grow the sport we all enjoy.
In order that the show ground is looking it's best prior to the show, we will be at Detling to complete some much needed work to the trials arena on 24th June.
If any of you can please please spare some time to help out that would be fantastic. Please let us know if you can make it.

So that we can book your tickets/electric hook up etc we do need to know numbers.
As soon as is possible.

Just email kytctrials@yahoo.com to book your place asap.

Thanks

KYTC
